Meet The Owner
A Love For Children Inspired By The Love Of God
With more than 11 years of experience in early childhood education, Owner Ashley Blackmon understands the importance of quality and care. From an under-resourced family, she received support to get a private school education and is dedicated to giving children the same opportunities. Inspired by her favorite aunt, Ashley pursued a career in early-childhood education and founded A Perfect Start in 2012. The center has gone from strength to strength and in 2018, The Catalyst Center for Business & Entrepreneurship voted Ashley Entrepreneur Of The Year.
Ashley married her husband Steven in 2016 and has two young children, Ashton and Bailey. In her free time, Ashley is active in her church, the community and enjoys couponing. Since being introduced to God in her private school chapel, Ashley has been inspired by his undying love.
“Although we might not be aware of it, we are actually surrounded by the love of God. Everywhere you go, wherever you turn, you get reminders of the fact that God loves you and his love will always abide with you.
However, amongst all his displays of love for his own (including provision, good health, security, favor, and much more), none comes close to him sacrificing his son. Mankind was lost until Jesus came down and reconciled us. It is due to this act of love and selflessness that we can boldly go into the presence of God and ask him for whatever we want.”

Located opposite Morris Elementary, within easy reach of the botanical gardens and UAH, the center is in a prime, central spot, just moments from Walmart so that you can take care of errands, visits, and school runs with ease.
An on-site nursing room perfect for new mothers
Nursing moms have a safe space to feed their babies on-site. Keep your baby on schedule and bond throughout the day without having to leave the premises. The staff is on-hand with care and essentials to make you comfortable.
Lush gardens, climbers, a basketball court and more!
Children have access to climbing frames, a basketball court, and bike tracks during their daily outdoor play. They even get to tend to a garden full of fruits and vegetables to connect with nature out in the fresh air.
State-licensed, secure premises keep them safe
